WELCOME

TO A NEW WORLD OF RELAXATION

BEING A FIRST TIME FLOATER

Float while enjoying a cup of te in PA - Halcyon float

Float Therapy is easy to do, you really just need to show up ready to relax. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment so we can get you settled in and set for your float. Once you are checked in, we will show you to your float tank and private changing, with shower. We do ask you shower before entering and after exiting our tanks. This helps to not disturb the pH in the tank, and to keep our facility in tip top shape for your next visit.

When you are ready to enter the sensory deprivation tank, slowly and carefully lower yourself into the tank. If you like, we have lights that you can bring into the tank with you to help ease you into relaxation. Once inside the tank, lay back and feel yourself float effortlessly on a bed of epsom salts solution, enjoying 90 minutes of serenity and calm. Relax. Recover. Reset. When you are finished your float there is no need to rush out. Please feel free to basque in the afterglow of your float while enjoying a cup of tea in our cozy lounge area.

* All you have to bring is yourself, and maybe a hair brush and deodorant for after your float! *

It's a good idea to not shave the day of your scheduled float, or the day before, just to be on the safe side.

You want to eat a light meal at least an hour before your float time. A growling stomach could disrupt your relaxation.

You want to try to limit your caffeine intake before your float. It could make you jittery and harder to relax.

We ask for you to arrive about 10 minutes early. You'll get a brief consultation and we can answer any last minute questions you have.

YOUR FLOAT EXPERIENCE

STEP ONE: Arrive for your float

STEP TWO: Your brief consultation and we'll answer any last minute questions.

STEP THREE: First shower [ 5 minutes ] Showering prior to entering the tank helps rid your body of make-up, oils, lotions, hair products, etc.

STEP FOUR: Your float [ 90 minutes ]

STEP FIVE: Second shower [ 8-10 minutes ]. You'll need to rinse off the excessive salt from your skin, hair and ears.

STEP SIX: Relax, recover, check out.

  • Cover up cuts/scrapes with band-aid or use Petroleum Jelly (we have this on-site) to reduce stinging due to salt content.

  • Contact lenses cannot be worn in the tanks. We have contact cases and lens solution for you on-site.

  • Epsom salt is a great hair volumizer and has minimal to NO effect on hair colors or dyes that are set. However, floating is not recommended within two weeks of new hair coloring or treatment, three weeks for brighter colors.

  • Earplugs are provided to prevent water from going in ears as they are submerged in the water.

  • We provide the basic toiletries in our dressing rooms to accommodate your needs. We also have a hair dryer and lotion in our make up area. Please be sure to bring your own brush or comb if you so choose.

  • Please give us 24 hours notice if you need to cancel.

POST-FLOAT BLISS

After your float, you may be feeling a few different ways. From extremely relaxed and loopy, to energized and ready to take on the world. And for that, we have a lounge area just for you.

Not only do we have tea and cookies for you to enjoy post-float, but Halcyon Floats now has massage chairs to sit on as you write down (or draw) your float experience in our journals! These journals are kept for our customers, new and old, to see just how different everyones experiences can be. And we encourage you to share yours!
